BLOG: MEdia Tour Day 2 Kicks Off with Ganassi
Jan 28 2014 - 9:42am
CHARLOTTE -- Racing the snowflakes, the 32nd annual NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Media Tour presented by Charlotte Motor Speedway kicked off early this morning with a visit from Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates.
You'll notice there's no more Earnhardt (as in Teresa) involved, as the 5-year deal expired as of this season.
Kyle Larson stole the show, getting a lot of attention from assembled media types. Jamie McMurray, the longest tenured CGRwFS driver on the Cup side, pulling almost as much. Of course, the best interview in the room, as always, was Sabates, who is going to the Super Bowl this weekend to cheer on the Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning.
Good news is, Chip didn't call his cars' performance "pathetic" this year, as he did last year.
We've got Richard Childress Racing coming in next, followed by a trek to Charlotte Motor Speedway. It's an all-Chevy day, as Furniture Row and Hendrick wind up the night.
Stay tuned!
