Brickyard 400 Redux

Well, the Brickyard 400 has come and gone for another year.

It wasn't Tiregate, which was a good thing. It wasn't Dale Earnhardt winning after the rain hit, or Ricky Rudd winning out of the blue, either, which isn't good.

Paul Menard pulled off an improbably victory, and that was good, even if he did it by slowing down and waiting.

I love all things about IMS, as you well know, but I'm getting a bit tired of the way the racing is going there for stock cars. It's about the event for me, and the racing is not living up to the venue. That's just my opinion, you understand.

It's kind of like Monaco for Formula One. It's a cracked-together course, surrounded by steel barriers and curbing, not suitable at all for modern F1 cars. But you go there because you almost HAVE to. It's MONACO!

Same thing with Indy. You go because it's INDY.

Thought the races from IRP were outstanding, even the ARCA race. The Truck race was cool, and the Nationwide race was cool even if it did get a little chippy at the end. Can't blame BK for the contact at the end, no matter how much Ricky Stenhouse wants to.

Another year to wait for the Brickyard...hopefully by then NASCAR will have figured out that they need to work on the aero package.
