Chase Changes

Kurt Busch. Tony Stewart. Jimmie Johnson.

Those are the three drivers who have won Chase titles since the program was implemented for the 2004 season.

No Matt Kenseth, Carl Edwards, Kevin Harvick. No Jeff Gordon. No Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Is that what we need? Hey, Jimmie Johnson has won the last five, and he earned 'em, fair and square. No doubt about it. It's great for Johnson, his fans, his team and his family, not to mention Lowe's, because they own the Chase, lock, stock and barrel.

But when one guy dominates like Five-Time has, does it dilute the product?

I am a fan of the San Francisco Giants, the Indianapolis Colts, Notre Dame and Ball State. I am decidedly not a fan of the New England Patriots, New York Yankees, the U or Ohio State.

Why? The reasons are many, but the main fact is, they dominate their respective spots. Nothing against them for being good, you understand, just an intense desire to see someone else...anyone else, truth be known, win the title.

Now, Jimmie fans, please understand I'm not knocking your man. As I said, he won it, he earned it, no question. But for those of you who are SuperG fans, Smoke fans, Cuz/Kenseth/Busch fans...does this make you want to buy tickets or turn on the TV?
