FedEx 400 2013: Start Time, Lineup, TV Schedule and More

Jimmie Johnson looks to defend his 2012 win at the FedEx 400 Benefiting Autism Speaks on Sunday in Dover, Del. for what is always one of NASCAR's marquee events. 

Denny Hamlin took the pole for the race on a slippery track, while the defending champion Johnson—who has won seven times at Dover—sits at the 24th position to start out. 

Hamlin's No. 1 pit spot post is a unique advantage at Dover. He's followed by three other Toyota drivers to lead off the pole: Martin Truex Jr., Kyle Busch and Matt Kenseth.

Last year featured an exciting spectacle that included 17 lead changes and seven caution flags. Johnson eventually outlasted Kevin Harvick and Kenseth, both of whom are starting in the top 10 on Sunday.

Johnson's victory at Dover last year came at a crucial point for the driver, who was very much in the hunt for his sixth Sprint Cup championship in fifth place at the time. 

It'll be an uphill climb for Johnson this year, but he could greatly use a strong finish at Dover as he's currently leading the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup standings, via ESPN. 

Weather Conditions

It looks to be a sunny day in Dover around noon, but the chance of precipitation increases to 30 percent at 4 p.m. ET, per Weather.com. Overcast skies should be expected by the end of the race, but it shouldn't be too slippery.

Storyline to Watch

Keselowski Title Defense Reaching Desperation Time

Coming off the heels of Brad Keselowski's epic 2012 Sprint Cup championship, it hasn't been a season to remember in 2013 so far. He's dropped to 10th place in the Sprint Cup rankings. 

Keselowski notched his first DNF since early in 2012 last weekend at Charlotte, as his plummet down the rankings continues and the chances of defending his crown become more and more diminished. 

There's no doubt Keselowski could use a solid finish Sunday at Dover, and he's in a prime position to do so since he starts out at the eighth spot. 

It shouldn't hurt that crew chief Paul Wolfe is returning, either, per The Miami Herald. Wolfe returns after a two-race suspension for unapproved parts. 

If Keselowski is for real about defending his crown, he'll need a top-10 finish at Dover.
