Good News on TV...

Now that FOX sports has ended its NASCAR season, the news comes that its ratings were flat with 2012.

And it's good news.

According to sources, NASCAR on FOX was the only sport on any of the broadcast nets that did not post a year-over-year ratings decline. Considering that baseball is in full swing, the NBA Finals are under way as of tonight and football is a couple of months away, that's really good news.

The numbers, posted by our good friend Jayski, say that NASCAR Sprint Cup Races on FOX averaged a 4.8/10 with 7.8 million viewers. That's flat with last year's average of a 4.8/10 with 7.9 million viewers.

That again ranks as the highest-rated and most-watched sport in season.

As a harbinger of the summer to come, interest should remain high with TNT and then on to ESPN.
