Happy Holidays!

Well, it's that time of year again. Christmas is a wonderful time of the year, and it means different things to different people.

For most of us, it's a time where we sit back, shrug off the oppressive yoke of everyday life, spend time with the important people in our lives and just celebrate life, the passing of time and the memories it creates.

For others, it's a time of reflection, or penance, or even just time off work. Since Christmas falls on a Sunday this year, there's some weekend feeling to it too.

For still others, we're wondering what the new year will hold.

For AJ Allmendinger, it might hold the keys to a brand-new Dodge Charger and a seat with Roger Penske's team. Rumor has it he might leave RPM and the No. 43 to go to the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil car recently vacated by quasi-permanent Naughty List driver Kurt Busch.

For David Ragan, it might mean Allmendinger's ride at RPM. Ragan asked for his release to seek the Penske ride, but Ford loves the Unadilla, Ga. driver, and they might be swinging things to make it happen.

If you're inclined to believe common knowledge, this has the fine hand of Jack Roush in it. He is no fan of Kurt Busch, and if sending Ragan to what amounts to a team car in the 43 to keep Busch out of it is what he has to do, then he'll do it.

It works out for all parties...except Busch, which is, I suspect, the way a certain Cat in a Hat wants it.
