iNSIDE SCOOP: Is More Better?

With word of possible changes to the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, meaning adding four more drivers to the mix and eliminating them after three, six and nine races, comes the test: is more better for the Chase?
Well, more is usually better, unless you're talking about weight, gray hair or government regulation. But is it right for NASCAR now?
From here, it is, definitely, but not for the added participants. It's for the elimination process.
Under the plan (https://www.onmc.com/news/nascar-might-expand-chase-field-16), the four lowest in points would exit, stage left, from Chase consideration after the third race, again after the sixth and lastly under the ninth. That means that the top four would be in Homestead at the final race of the season with an even chance to win the title. Winner. Take. All.
Will NASCAR do that? I think they would. It would be dramatic, give fans the chance to see a real honest-to-God, one-race-for-all-the-marbles extravaganza on one night.
It's got a real March Madness feel to it. Win or go home (figuratively) is a good draw when it comes to attention.
I think even the drivers would embrace it. They'd certainly change their strategies a little. Winning means more points, and you can't ride when the others are racing. It would put a premium on winning, and the timing of the mulligan would have big implications, even more than it does now.
I like it. If it comes to pass it could be one of those watershed moments. Drivers would need to win a race to be assured of getting in, and with 16, there would be enough so that all the heroes would get in. Then it would be three-race segments to the title.
I like it.
Your thoughts?
