Well, so much for all that talk about how Six-Time had lost a step, huh?

After last week's victory at Charlotte, Johnson returned to Dover looking for momentum in the form of a winning streak. He found it.

Leading 272 of 400 laps will also give you that "I found my horseshoe and I'm not giving it back" feeling, too. It's almost like he went the first 12 races of the season without a win just to make everyone feel better, kind of like Andre the Giant in the cult classic, "The Princess Bride."

"You're not taking it easy on me, are you?" said Westley, battling the gigantic Fezzik. "I just wanted you to feel like you were doing well!" was the reply.

In truth, Dover is one of Johnson's best tracks. Sunday's triumph was his ninth at the 1-mile concrete track, and it gave him the lead in the Chase seedings. He has two victories, and so do Joey Logano and Kevin Harvick, but both of them are behind Johnson in points.

So, is this shaping up to be the Summer of Six-Time? Could be. He's been known to do that, and Pocono is a place he's won on before. Michigan too. It could be a big momentum shift toward the 48 camp.

Johnson scored his ninth Dover victory on Sunday, one more than teammate Jeff Gordon.

Kevin Harvick was perhaps the only car capable of challening Johnson, but got caught out by a piece of debris. The debris knocked a valve stem into the wheel, and forced Harvick to pit under green. He lost two laps and had to settle for 17th. Brad KEselowski was strong too, but ran out of time on a late restart. Kyle Busch took off at the initial start and led the first 81 laps, but later was involved in contact with Clint Bowyer and crashed out.

Bowyer made it two Joe Gibbs Racing drivers on his personal hit parade on the final restart, bumping Matt Kenseth into the wall on the final restart. The two apparently talked it out on pit road, as Kenseth was spinning the tires even in fourth gear. 

This could be a pivotal race this season, when Johnson regained the initiative and put his stamp on 2014.
