Revving Up!

Tomorrow, the eighth ONMC All-Star Fan Experience will open for business at Victory Junction.

Having been here for the previous seven, it's a special time of year for us. Instead of us traveling to see our Members at the tracks and at events around the country, you come to us, and we put on the dog for you.

That's a Southern thing, y'all...means we welcome you, do our best to entertain you and have a good time doing it.

The first iteration of the ASFE was a big production. We were in formal clothes, downtown in the Convention Center and hosting a huge dinner with guests and speakers and what-all.

It was a great time. We had a lot of Members on hand, they enjoyed the pomp and circumstance, and so did we.

In the years that followed, we went with a more race-like experience, at the tracks, in the community, at the shops and other places where you all want to be.

Last year's ASFE was a barn-burner. We toured NASCAR R&D, the Motor Racing Network, SPEED, Richard PEtty Driving Experience and the Wood Brothers. We raced go-karts, rode the bull at Whisky River, hung out at the now-defunct NASCAR Sprint Pit Crew Challenge, ate a burger or two (or three, in my case) and generally enjoyed being together.

We had Paul Mullins cook us breakfast (thanks, Paul!). We toured the garage area and went onto the track for Driver Intros.

This year, it's going to be just as good.

For the first time, we'll tour Roush Fenway Racing, and we'll combine it with the NASCAR R&D tour. They're right across the road from each other, too.

We'll return to Victory Lanes Karting Center...so ONMC President/CEO Dave Hickson and I can settle last year's "incident" on the track like men. You know he caused it, and I can't believe NASCAR didn't fine him for rough driving. He didn't even call me after the race to apologize. (By the way, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!).

We are looking forward to seeing all of you coming here for the ASFE!
