ONMC POWER 10: JoLo Rolls as Chase Nears

As dominant as Joey Logano was on Saturday night at Bristol, how could he be anything but first in the ONMC Power 10?

Unless you consider his teammate, Brad Keselowski, who powered to a runner-up finish on the .533-mile oval.

The Team Penske pair went 1-2 again, several Chase qualifiers suffered through the slings and arrows of short-track scuffling and the races are winding down until they count for real...well, more real, when you come down to it.

1. Joey Logano: Third win of the season for Sliced Bread, who would not be denied at the end of the race. He's stout, folks. Last week: 5

2. Brad Keselowski: Has three wins this season, nearly caught young master Joey in the waning laps. Want to bet against this pair when the Chase starts? Do so at your own peril. Last week: 4

3. Matt Kenseth: Still winless, but it might not matter. He's all but in with two races left, and was third at Bristol. Last week: 9

4. Jeff Gordon: Missed on a third straight victory and finished 16th at Bristol. He was strong though, and that bears watching. Last week: 1

5. Jimmie Johnson: Still not the Beast he's been in years past, he is doing what it takes to be ready for the Chase. Fourth at BMS. Last week: 6

6. Dale Earnhardt Jr.: Talk about wrong place, wrong time. Junior was minding his own business when Kevin Harvick sent Denny Hamlin and wound up with a Diet Dew car without Dew but on a big diet, thanks to all the foam coming out of the driver's side. Finished 39th. Last week: 2

7. Carl Edwards: Making the most of his swan song with Roush, Edwards was seventh at BMS. Best of the rest in terms of Fords. Last week: 8

8. Kevin Harvick: The dump of Hamlin was an accident, he says, but it adds fuel to Hambone's hate fire. Finished 11th after being stout in the first half at BMS. Last week: 3

9. Ryan Newman: Still winless, and he didn't have an animated (whiny) conversation with Johnson like at Michigan. He's all but in, too, which makes Johnson very happy, I'm sure. Finished 13th at BMS. Last week: not ranked

10. Greg Biffle: Doing his best to make a late rally stand up for the Chase. Biff was 10th at Bristol, which is good for him, and is 11th in points. That's the last Chase spot right there. Last week: not ranked

Dropped out: AJ Allmendinger, Clint Bowyer

Close But No Cigar:

Kurt Busch, already in the Chase, ran fifth at BMS; Kyle Larson, who is likewise making a big push for the Chase but has hills to climb. He was 12th at BMS; Bowyer, who was 17th at BMS and sits 10th in the points, 15th of 16 for the Chase; Paul Menard, who was a surging ninth at BMS, probably has too many cars and too many points to overcome to make the Chase; Jamie McMurray, who led 148 laps at BMS before finishing eighth, is likewise in a bind Chase-wise. He has a chance, but realistically, they are deader than Disco.
