Speeds Up at Michigan

Nothing cures ills like driving a race car really fast.

If you're Juan Pablo Montoya, that's what Friday was good for, as he was a tick behind Jimmie Johnson in the opening practice for this weekend's Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway.

Johnson clicked off a lap at 203.355 miles per hour, which was faster by a couple of ticks than Marcos Ambrose's track record. Montoya was close behind at 203.132 mph. Kyle Busch (202.634), Joey Logano (202.537) and Carl Edwards (201.998) were the top five.

In all, 20 drivers eclipsed the magic barrier during the session.
